Live like Royalty at Airelles Château de Versailles

New & Noteable

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live like royalty, Airelles has just made that possible with the opening of Le Grand Contrôle within the grounds of the iconic Château de Versailles, on June 1st.

A suite in Le Grand Côntrole.

Accomodation

Step into the shoes of the European elite of centuries past as you roam the palace halls and more than 2,000 acres of gardens and sleep in a building constructed by Louis XVI’s favorite architect. Restored and redecorated to represent the 18th-century style of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, the hotel boasts just 14 opulent rooms and suites, each with individual décor. Largely decorated with original period furniture and art, the hotel has a uniquely authentic air. Many other historical features, such as parquet flooring, fabrics, stonework, and wood paneling were also recreated by commissioned French artisans.

Special guest perks include exclusive access to areas of the Château and grounds that are closed to the public and the ability to explore the Grand Canal and gardens at leisure with special access to boats and golf carts. Each stay also includes a private tour of The Trianon and The Queen’s Hamlet before the arrival of the general public, a private tour of the Château after all visitors have left for the day, and unlimited access to the Orangery Gardens. Versailles is a must-visit for many visitors to Paris, so we’d suggest pairing this new luxury retreat for one or two nights at the beginning or end of your visit to take the most advantage of the grounds and special experiences.

Dining

Chef Alain Ducasse, with 20 Michelin stars to his name, further transports guests on their aristocratic journey with his gastronomic delights that are reminiscent of both past and present. With flamboyant reimagined French classics, dinner is a theatrical affair that recalls the King’s royal banquets – with staff dressed in period costume as they serve gold, silver and vermeil dome covered dishes, a bell rings at 8:30 pm to signal the beginning of the five-course gourmet feast. Each Sunday, a royal brunch is served, and an afternoon tea dedicated to Marie Antoinette is held every afternoon.

Spa

The Valmont spa features a hand-painted fresco and Carrara marble checkerboard floor, the indoor swimming pool, and a Hamman and sauna. Services are provided by Swiss skincare experts and include a signature 90-minute Majestic Mirror facial designed especially for Le Grand Contrôle.

This luxurious new experience is nothing short of fit for royalty! Let’s discuss planning a visit as part of your return to France. Whether you’ve seen Versailles before or this is a first occasion, we’re happy to help make this an experience to remember and discuss the best way to pair your stay with a larger excursion in Paris, wine country, or other neighboring countries.
